It is amazing what you learn and at what age, I didn’t know the United States has a visa lottery which has 50,000 winners a year. These winners are all immigrants from other countries. They actually win a visa, or what is better known as a green card. The lottery is upcoming and soon those who have registered and qualified will find out whether or not they have won. If you are among the winners, you receive a visa, your spouse, children under a certain age, and the benefits of the United States such as jobs, colleges, schools and basically everything else. You are a legal citizen in the United states. Most of the applicants are from those regions where the immigrant rate is lower, and there are six regions altogether that engage in this lottery. The lottery is free and if you win you must show documentation of your identity and other information that is required as well. This amazes me, simply because I wonder how many immigrants that are not here legally know about this lottery. I didn’t know about it that’s for certain. It was established in 1996 and has been going on once a year since then. The web sites to find out more information can be found by doing a simple search and then the web sites are usually all the same, and while you are on the web site, you can also choose which language you would like the web site to be in and click on it. If none is selected the web site remains in English. You can also get assistance for questions about the visa lottery on the web site as well. However if you are an American citizen that does not agree with this annual lottery you must voice your opinion through the use of the United States Postal service. There are many people who live in the United States today, there are many here who have come from other countries, however I had no idea that there was such a thing as a Visa Lottery that allows immigrants to win visas and 50,000 a year at that. There’s not a lot that can be said that wouldn’t be repetitive, simply because the web site offers more information about the lottery and how to apply to win the lottery than anything else. It also answers questions but all pertain to the American Visa lottery once again. There is nothing as far as opposition or protesting or petitions and some of what is on the sight I really don’t even understand myself. The law was passed by congress in 1996 allowing the world wide lottery to take place. The organization tries to assist the winning immigrants as much as they can, as well as help them get adjusted. As American citizens, they have all the rights anyone else has.
